Side Plate, Fatehsagar Etched 12" dia
This serveware captures the essence of the sacred connection between nature and life in Indian mythology. Rising from the water like a mythical vision, the Lake Palace in Udaipur mirrors the legendary emergence of the holy Parijata tree in Indian mythology. Parijat is known as the ornament of The Gods, and believed to be the favorite of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. Therefore, a profound belief in the sacredness of trees is deeply ingrained in India, recognizing them as fountains of primordial energies offering nourishment, shelter, and a sense of rootedness to birds, animals, and mankind. This is intricately portrayed in this collection of brass plates.
